Arpeggiator

Apple

Arpeggiator is a MIDI effect plugin that generates musically interesting arpeggios from incoming MIDI notes, playing them in programmable patterns rather than all at once. It features split and remote control capabilities for live performance, with switchable variations, inversions, and multiple direction modes to quickly change patterns and feels during studio work or live playing.

Key Features

016 arpeggio direction modes: Up, Down, Up/Down, Outside-in, Random, As Played
024 note order variations per direction with different rhythmic patterns
034 chord inversion modes or octave range settings
0416-step grid editor for velocity, length, rests, ties, and chord control
05Live mode for real-time rest, tie, and chord insertion
06Latch modes: Reset, Transpose, Gated Transpose, Add, Add Temporarily, Through
07Rate control with 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 triplet/dotted, and 1/32 note divisions
08Keyboard split into 3 zones: Remote, Arpeggio, and Through

Things to Try

  • 01Use Latch mode with Transpose to play a single key and shift the arpeggio pitch live without releasing
  • 02Combine the Lock button with As Played mode to capture and retain a specific note order across new arpeggios
  • 03Drag velocity/length bars in Grid mode to the right until they overlap the next step to create ties between notes
  • 04Set Cycle Length to 'By Grid' in Options to synchronize arpeggio pattern length with your DAW's division setting
