Rift

Minimal Audio

Rift is a distortion-focused audio plugin built around a unique multipolar processing engine that separates and blends positive and negative waveform portions independently. It features 30 custom distortion algorithms combined with a flexible feedback processor, morphing filters, and powerful modulation capabilities, allowing users to create everything from subtle harmonic enhancement to extreme, characterful distortion effects.

Key Features

0130 custom distortion algorithms across 5 categories (Waveshape, Wavefold, Noise, Bit Depth, Sample Rate)
02Multipolar processing with independent positive and negative waveform manipulation
03Adjustable distortion stages for layered harmonic complexity
04Flexible feedback processor with tuned (MIDI, Tune, Comb) and timed (Free, Sync, Norm, Trip, Dot) frequency ranges
0524 custom filter types including morphing, formant, notch, and harmonic filters
06Real-time oscilloscope and distortion scope visualization
07Multi-band processing with per-band gain and solo functionality
08Comprehensive modulation system with Macros, Follow envelope, LFO, and 2 Curve modulators

Things to Try

  • 01For heavier distortion, add more gain with DRIVE and try adding more STAGES
  • 02Try setting FEEDBACK SPREAD slightly above or below zero to create a wide stereo image without changing the feedback frequency
  • 03Try combining FILTER AMP MOD with TUNE and MIDI modes to create melodic harmonics with the CUTOFF
  • 04Try assigning FOLLOW to delay FEEDBACK to keep intense settings under control, or assign it to FEEDBACK MIX to duck the feedback module along with the input signal
