The NN-19 is a sampler capable of recording and reproducing audio material via MIDI, allowing any sound to be integrated into the MIDI environment and controlled like a synthesizer. Unlike traditional tape recorders, it enables pitch playback through a keyboard, making it ideal for both professionally multisampled instruments and creative sample manipulation. The NN-19 includes numerous ready-made sample patches across all instrument types and supports advanced key zoning for multisampling.

Things to Try

  • 01Use Sample Start knob to remove unwanted artifacts from the beginning of samples or create effects like starting a phrase from the middle word
  • 02Apply Filter Envelope with high Envelope Amount to create dramatic filter sweeps across the keyboard range
  • 03Automap multiple samples together to automatically assign them to key zones based on their stored root key information
  • 04Enable Keyboard Tracking OFF for non-pitched samples like drums to trigger the same sample from multiple keys for faster drum rolls
