Sweeper

Reason Studios

Sweeper is a versatile modulation effect plugin from Reason Studios that combines three classic effect engines—Phaser, Flanger, and Filter—each with customizable parameters and an intuitive modulation system. What sets Sweeper apart is its flexible envelope modulator with custom drawing capabilities and audio follower, allowing you to create evolving, synced sweeps and modulations that respond to your input in real time or via preset curves.

Key Features

01Three effect engines: Phaser (1-40 stages), Flanger, and Filter
02Nine filter types including SVF, Ladder, MFB, and K35 designs
03Custom envelope modulator with drawing and preset curves
04LFO with 10 selectable waveforms and tempo sync
05Audio Follower for dynamic modulation
06Stereo/Dual Mono routing with detunable Spread control
07Independent Polarity and Mute Dry controls on Phaser and Flanger
08Modulation routing: LFO and envelope to Frequency, Feedback/Resonance, and Volume

Things to Try

  • 01Enable Mute Dry in the Phaser section to convert it into a frequency-dependent delay effect with a tremolo-like character
  • 02Load a stepped envelope preset curve in Loop mode, enable Sync, and set the rate to 4/4 so each step represents a 1/16th note
  • 03Use the Audio Follower Gain In control to attenuate or boost the modulation signal for matching it to your input audio level
  • 04Enable the Polarity button on the Phaser to switch from notches to peaks in the frequency spectrum
