Reason Studios

Synchronous is a flexible multi-effect loop device from Reason Studios featuring built-in Distortion, Filter, Delay, and Reverb effects that can be modulated simultaneously by up to three freely designable modulation curves. By drawing custom modulation curves in the display and assigning them to effect parameters, you get precise, tempo-synced parameter automation perfect for insert processing or creative loop mangling on loops and drums.

Things to Try

  • 01Use the Positive Sawtooth Tool with 1/8 Rate to create ascending filter sweeps, then assign the curve to Freq Modulation with positive amount for sweeping texture changes
  • 02Enable Roll mode in Delay and turn the Feedback knob up quickly from zero at your desired point, then quickly back to zero for instant stutter/repeat effects—experiment with different Time values for varied stutter timing
  • 03Set Reverb Send/Return switch to Return and modulate the Amount parameter from a curve to create gated or reversed reverb effects
  • 04Set different loop lengths for each of the three modulation curves to generate animated variations that evolve over extended periods
