Oxford Reverb is a highly flexible artificial reverberation generator that uses reflection simulation modeling to create virtual spaces with comprehensive user control over all parameters. Unlike fixed algorithms, it allows engineers to build custom room simulations ranging from dry reflective ambiences to large reverberant spaces by independently controlling early reflections and reverb tail characteristics, complemented by full equalisation functions for realistic frequency response modeling.

Things to Try

  • 01Set REVERB MIX fader to ER position and adjust WET/DRY for comfortable mix balance to hear early reflections alone
  • 02Start with WIDTH and TAPER in mid position, FEED ALONG and FEEDBACK at minimum, and LF ROLL-OFF at minimum for neutral early reflection setup
  • 03Increase LF ROLL-OFF to tailor high-frequency response of reflections over time for realistic space absorption
  • 04Use POSITION fader at minimum setting initially to avoid frequency combing effects when combined with dry signal
  • 05Set ER MIX fader to DRY position, TAIL INPUT to DLY INP, and COMP DELAY to mid position as reverb tail starting point
  • 06Apply REVERB MIX fader to central position for equal contribution from Early Reflections and Reverb Tail during initial setup
  • 07Increase DISPERSION in positive direction for increased complexity and smoothness in longer term reverberation
  • 08Use negative PHASE DIFF settings for wider and more diverse stereo sound fields when aiming for greater perceived immersion
