Sibilance is a sophisticated de-esser plugin that uses Waves' Organic ReSynthesis technology to remove harsh vocal 's' and 'sh' sounds with transparency and precision. It identifies and attenuates sibilant frequencies while preserving the natural timbre, duration, and resonance of the original vocal, making it ideal for cleaning up vocal recordings without introducing artifacts or audible processing.

Things to Try

  • 01Use narrow Detection Width setting for S sounds and wider range for Sh sounds
  • 02Set Mode to higher values (toward 100/Split) for focused S sound attenuation above 4 kHz
  • 03Enable Monitor toggle to preview detected sibilant sounds before committing to processing
  • 04Adjust Threshold downward to catch subtle sibilance, but watch for over-processing of non-sibilant content
