Simpler is a sampler instrument that combines sample playback with classic synthesizer controls, including ADSR envelopes, filters, LFO, and pitch modulation. It uniquely integrates Live's warping technology, allowing samples to play in sync with your Set's tempo regardless of the note played. Three playback modes—Classic, One-Shot, and Slicing—make it versatile for melodic instruments, drum hits, and rhythmic breaks.

Things to Try

  • 01In Classic Mode, enable Snap to force loop markers to zero-crossing points to reduce glitches between loop start and end
  • 02Use the Fade control to crossfade loop end to loop start, especially effective for long textural samples
  • 03In Slicing Mode with Transients enabled, adjust the Sensitivity slider to control how many automatic slices are created (higher values create more slices, up to 64 maximum)
  • 04Create sustaining loops with glitchy or granular character by using very short loop regions, though note this increases CPU load with Complex Warp Modes
