Trem Control

Goodhertz

Trem Control is a tremolo plugin that combines classic analog tremolo character with modern sound design capabilities. Featuring intuitive rate controls, flexible shape parameters, and 9 distinct tremolo types, it can recreate vintage tremolo effects or enable radically new sounds. A crunchy tube summing stage adds warmth and harmonic coloration to the modulation.

Key Features

019 tremolo types: Standard, Harmonic, Deep Harmonic, Bass, Treble, Air, Mid/Side, Mid Only, and Side Only
02Rate control via BPM sync (whole note to thirty-second note) or Hz (0–20 Hz) with rate multiplier (1/4x–32x)
03Shape controls: Depth, Wave (triangle–sine–square), Bias, and Symmetry
04Phase Offset (0–360°) and Stereo Phase (0–360°) for rhythmic and spatial effects
05Swing control (−100% to 100%) for classic and reverse jazz swing rhythms
06Tube Color with embedded THD meter (0–200%, up to 13% THD)
07Input and Output Trim for tube stage overdrive (−24 to +12 dB each)
08HQ Mode for higher-precision processing with ~50 ms latency

Things to Try

  • 01Use Swing at 25% for classic jazz swing feel, or −25% for reverse swing rhythm
  • 02Set Phase Offset to align tremolo peaks offbeat (e.g., 180°) for syncopated rhythmic effects
  • 03Increase Input Trim to overdrive the tube stage for gnarly tube distortion and crunch
  • 04Use Stereo Phase at 180° with stereo tremolo types for a much wider-sounding effect
