Pendulate is a free chaotic monosynth that uses a novel double-pendulum oscillator to create previously unheard sounds—from biting basses and searing leads to gritty textures. It can smoothly fade from a sine wave to total chaos, offering an expanse of territory to explore in between, and features a wavefolder and low-pass gate inspired by classic Buchla designs.

Things to Try

  • 01Route an LFO Triangle wave to the master pitch and then route the MOD WHEEL output to the LFO OUTPUT LEVEL modulation control to add vibrato
  • 02Use the LOOP button on the ADSR to detach it from note-on control and turn it into a second LFO by controlling speed and shape with Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release times
  • 03Modulate the Wavefolder controls (Drive, Folds, Mix, Symmetry) to create moving harmonics that sound interesting and pleasant
  • 04Enable BIPOLAR on the LFO when performing modulation routings like vibrato that require the LFO to modulate around a parameter by both adding and subtracting from it
