Beat Delay

PreSonus

Beat Delay is a tempo-synced delay with optional cross-delay and filtered feedback designed for adding rhythmic feel to parts or creating spatial doubling effects. It excels at adding off-beats to rhythmic elements or creating slap-back echo effects while maintaining strict tempo synchronization with flexible beat-based timing controls.

Key Features

01Tempo-synced delay from 4/1 to 1/64 with triplet and dotted-time variants
02Cross-Delay stereo mode with up to 50 ms offset between channels
03Ping-Pong modulation with three modes (Off, Sum, 2-Ch) and Swap control
04Pong-Factor multiplier for rhythmic subdivisions
05Offset control from -30 to +30% of specified Beats value
06Low Cut and High Cut filtering (6 dB/octave) with independent frequency ranges
07Feedback from 0 to 99.99% with dedicated feedback control
08In Pan control for left/right channel ratio adjustment

Things to Try

  • 01Use Ping-Pong mode set to Sum with higher Width settings to achieve full ping-pong stereo effect
  • 02Apply Cross-Delay in extreme left or right positions for pronounced stereo separation
  • 03Use lower Width settings with 2-Ch Ping-Pong mode to monoize the delay effect
  • 04Adjust In Pan to full Left to delay only the left channel of the input signal
