Alchemy is a sample-manipulation synth in Logic Pro that combines powerful resynthesis tools with multiple sound-generating engines. It features four independent sample sources with granular, additive, and spectral synthesis modes, extensive filtering options, and modulation capabilities to transform audio into entirely new playable instruments. With over 3000 sounds and morphing tools, Alchemy excels at creating complex, evolving tones and textures from any source material.

Things to Try

  • 01Set Granular Size to around 100 ms and Density to around 5 for smooth pad sounds with no sharp transients
  • 02Set Granular Size between 40 and 80 ms with Density around 2 for drums and sounds with sharp transients
  • 03Use Spectral Formant Center knob to set center frequency, with Size knob stretched to shift resonances upward below center and downward above center
  • 04Enable Loop Speed Sync to synchronize loop playback with project tempo for rhythmically locked manipulations
  • 05Try Spectral Blur effect on melodic loops with pitch variations to hear the frequency-blurring impact
