Prophet V is a software synthesizer that emulates the classic Prophet 5 and Prophet VS synthesizers in a single plugin. It combines subtractive synthesis with vector synthesis capabilities, offering authentic analog emulation through Arturia's TAE technology for warm, characterful sound. The three interface modes (Prophet 5, Prophet VS, and Hybrid) provide flexibility for creating everything from classic polyphonic pads to complex evolving textures.

Things to Try

  • 01Increase resonance on the filter cutoff to enable self-oscillation and create whistling effects characteristic of analog Prophet sound
  • 02Use the mixer envelope in Prophet VS to automate joystick movement between 4 oscillators by setting 5-point positions and time values between 800-3000 ms
  • 03Add LFO modulation to filter cutoff by clicking the modulation matrix intersection point between LFO1 source and Cutoff destination, then adjusting the modulation amount
  • 04Layer the Prophet 5 and Prophet VS in Hybrid mode via the audio connection matrix to add a fourth oscillator source and route it through different filter types
