LO-FI is a synthesizer plugin that specializes in intentionally degraded, distorted, and processed sounds designed for hip-hop, electronic, and experimental music production. It transforms synths, keys, orchestral textures, and guitars through pitch shifting, bit crushing, distortion, and other extreme processing to create gritty, edgy textures with raw energy. The plugin combines vintage knob-per-function design with modern controls including an XY Pad with 4 selectable Macro Effects, dual filters, a 16-step arpeggiator, and comprehensive modulation and effects routing.

Things to Try

  • 01Enable Portamento and engage the Arpeggiator to create expressive pitch slides between individual arpeggiator notes
  • 02Use the Ring Modulation with modulation from the Envelope or LFO/Step to create evolving metallic and bell-like tones
  • 03Apply modulation to the HP and LP Filter Cutoff frequencies using Velocity to make filter movement respond to MIDI controller dynamics
  • 04Select one of the 4 Macro Effects (Stutter, Dream, Space, or Grit) and move the XY Pad to change multiple parameters simultaneously
