Slicex is an advanced drum loop and sample slicer that uses beat detection algorithms to automatically slice percussion samples and song files into independent playable pieces triggered from the Piano roll or controllers. It offers powerful reordering, time-stretching, and layering capabilities optimized for drum loops, while also functioning as a full-featured sampler with integrated editing via its built-in Wave Editor (based on Edison).

Things to Try

  • 01Load 'Vol - sustaining.fnv' in VOL and ENV mapping to play the whole slice regardless of key hold length
  • 02Use Declick out all regions (Tools > Regions) to smooth decay portions while preserving attack transients in drum loops
  • 03Assign multiple slices to the same piano key via Right-click region-marker > Trigger note for creative layering options
  • 04Apply Drum(loop) stretch globally or per-slice (Tools > Time > Drum(loop) stretch) when drum sounds are cut too short to recover decay
