Monark is a faithful replication of a classic 1970s monophonic analog synthesizer modeled in Native Instruments REAKTOR. It emphasizes subtractive synthesis with three oscillators, a warm 4-pole ladder filter capable of self-oscillation, dual envelope generators, and a feedback path that captures the dirt and imperfections of vintage analog circuitry. Designed for maximum sonic impact with a clear layout and smooth controls.

04Dual ADS envelope generators (filter and amplifier) with attack, decay, sustain, and release controls
05Four key-tracking strengths (full 1/1, 1/3, 2/3, or none)
06Two glide types (MM constant rate, SILVER constant time) with legato, always, or off modes
07Modulation of oscillator pitch and filter cutoff via OSCILLATOR 3 or noise generator with mixing control

Things to Try

  • 01Create vibrato by setting OSCILLATOR 3 to LO range, disabling key-tracking, and adjusting the FREQUENCY knob with triangle waveform
  • 02Combine sawtooth oscillators with reversed sawtooth (OSCILLATOR 3) and slight detuning to emulate pulse width modulation
  • 03Enable full key-tracking (K.T.1 on / K.T.2 on) to play the self-oscillating filter as a tonal source
  • 04Use FEEDBACK Type A for aggressive overdrive or Type B for subtle warmth, adjusting the LOAD parameter to drive the filter into soft distortion
