Transistor Bass is a subtractive synthesizer emulating the legendary Roland TB-303 Bassline synthesizer, with modern enhancements including guitar distortion modeling, FX effects (delay and reverb), and a built-in 16-step sequencer. It combines classic acid bass character with extended editing capabilities and contemporary production tools not found in the original hardware.

Things to Try

  • 01Toggle the Sequencer on and use MIDI Channel 13 with Note C5 as default pitch to transpose sequences in real-time
  • 02Enable the 303 Pulse algorithm for the Square Wave to match authentic TB-303 character (note that LFO->PW, LFO Rate, and PW knobs are disabled in this mode)
  • 03Use Gate Length control to shorten or lengthen the default 50% gate duration for variations in sequenced sound not possible with the original 303
  • 04Apply velocities of 86% (MIDI velocity 100) or more in Piano roll to trigger the Accent function and modulate Cutoff, Resonance, and Volume simultaneously
